Our Editorial Standards

Transparency about how we produce and verify our content. Last updated April 2026.

1. Who we are

ConqueringAI is an independent editorial site founded and edited by Mike H., operated as part of the Retirement Guide Network. Mike is a product and technology leader with about 15 years of experience in finance, fintech, and AI. He holds an MBA. He is not a medical, legal, or financial services professional, and nothing on this site constitutes professional advice in any of those domains.

2. How our content is produced

Our guides are researched with the assistance of Claude AI (Anthropic), drafted based on that research, and then reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by Mike H. before publication. For health and money articles, Mike verifies facts against primary government sources including Medicare.gov, SSA.gov, NIH.gov, CDC.gov, IRS.gov, and FTC.gov. We always attribute statistics to named organizations, we never write "studies show" or "research suggests" without naming the specific source. Nothing publishes without Mike's review.

3. AI content disclosure

We use AI to help research and draft our articles. Every article is then reviewed, edited, and published by Mike H., nothing publishes in its AI-drafted form. We disclose AI assistance on every article via the byline credit line: "AI-assisted research, see our editorial standards." Google's guidance (as of March 2026) explicitly states that disclosing AI assistance does not hurt search rankings. We believe transparency builds more trust than concealment, and our 50+ audience deserves to know how their information is produced.

4. What we check before publishing

  • Primary keyword and search intent match confirmed
  • All statistics attributed to named organizations with specific URLs
  • All source URLs tested, pointing to specific pages, not homepages
  • Health and money articles verified against at least 3 distinct authoritative sources
  • No source older than 24 months cited without noting it's the most recent available
  • FAQ answers are accurate and self-contained
  • Tool CTAs are relevant to the article topic
  • Affiliate disclosure present on any page with affiliate links

5. How often we update

  • Medicare articles: Every October (annual Medicare rate changes)
  • Social Security articles: Every January (annual COLA adjustments)
  • Tax articles: Every February (before tax season)
  • Scam and safety articles: When a major new threat emerges (monitored via FBI IC3 and FTC reports)
  • AI tool reviews: Every 6 months (tools change rapidly)

6. Our relationship with the Retirement Guide Network

ConqueringAI is published by the same team behind Senior Tech Choice, Home Independence Guide, Senior Traveling Guide, and Retirement Scam Guide. Each site operates independently with its own editorial focus, but they share a common mission: providing trustworthy, plain-English information for Americans over 50. When we link to sister sites, it's because the content is genuinely relevant, not as part of a link scheme.

7. How to report an error

If you find a factual error in any of our articles, please contact us using the form on our Contact page. Include the article URL and the specific claim you believe is incorrect. We will investigate and correct confirmed errors within 5 business days. We add a visible correction notice to any article where factual content was changed after publication.

8. Expert review

Mike is a product and technology professional, not a licensed healthcare provider, attorney, or financial advisor. For articles that venture into territory requiring specialized professional judgment, specific drug interactions, personalized financial strategy, legal proceedings, Mike either (a) explicitly directs readers to the appropriate professional rather than offering guidance, or (b) commissions review from a credentialed expert whose full name and credentials appear on the article.
